As a general contractor building on the peninsula for the past 25 years, we have been using MME for all of our residential engineering work for the past five years. They have been a pleasure to work with, flexible and willing to make changes to accommodate our customer’s needs and our needs. They have been very creative for us on a number of occasions and have always been able to make site visits when we needed them or email us changes to drawings on very short notice. Recently they stood up for us in a dispute with a local building department and prevailed. I have worked with MME on more than a dozen construction projects since 1995 including residential, commercial and institutional buildings and two bridges. As a licensed contractor since 1982, I have worked with many engineers over the years and can testify that MME is among the best. I have always found them to be knowledgeable, thorough, creative, honest and most importantly, responsive. We used Mesiti-Miller for a remodel (2 story addition) and couldn't be more pleased. We found them very responsive. They came out for site visits, made some excellent cost saving suggestions and there were no problems going through the building department to get permits as they clearly knew code requirements. We used Mesiti-Miller for structural engineering required by Santa Cruz County to obtain building permits to repair our home after an extreme tree strike. MME had a great working relationship with the County building department, was obviously well respected by them, and our permits were quickly approved. We would use MME again and again for future projects.

I am thoroughly impressed by the detail and professionalism demonstrated by MME.

My wife and I retained MME in June 2007 to help determine the reasons we were having so many unidentified structural problems with a custom home we had built as our retirement residence 15 years ago. The builder/contractor had made repetitive repairs during the first eleven years and then said he would not do anything further to correct the problems. MME and his staff determined the problems were due to truss related issues and prepared an extensive repair protocol that was used successfully to sue the builder and various subcontractors he employed. Since the builder waited until his 10 year liability exposure elapsed, we had to sue based on fraud. MME provided excellent structural engineering support which substantiated the fraud, and the builder wisely decided to settle the lawsuit in mediation in December 2011 rather than go to trial. We are currently using MME to assist us in working with a new contractor to make the necessary structural repairs to correct the extensive problems we have encountered during the past 15 years. Our original builder (who built over 1000 custom homes in Saratoga, Los Altos Hills and Pebble Beach) could not determine the cause of so many problems in our home even though he utilized the services of the premiere structural engineering firm in Monterey County. MME was able to identify the problem areas and did so in an expert manner. My wife and I would highly recommend MME. We did not find Mesiti-Miller to be any more expensive than other reputable engineering firms, and we believe we certainly achieved what we expected and paid for. We are very pleased.

From July 2005 to October 2007, MME, Inc. provided me with all of the engineering expertise, blueprints and city permits I required. Additionally, MME worked closely with the building contractor throughout the reconstruction of my home. MME was always very professional when working with sub-contractors, Fish & Game and soil engineers. They kept me well informed every step of the way.
